Repeat Prescriptions

Effective from 1st September 2017, prescriptions may only be ordered by our Patients, their Carers or Relatives. Prescriptions can no longer be ordered by your pharmacist.

Please use the repeat slip provided with your last script for requesting repeat medication. We have forms available at reception if you have lost this.  For safety reasons, we DO NOT accept requests over the telephone.

Prescriptions can now be sent to the pharmacy electronically, If you would like to to nominate a pharmacy to receive your prescriptions electronically please ask at either the pharmacy or at the surgery.  If you nominate a pharmacy ALL future prescriptions will be sent to that pharmacy.  You will still need to order prescriptions in the same way.

Prescriptions will be ready for collection within 3 working days. If you send a stamped addressed envelope, we can post it to you if requested

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications, a notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Unused prescriptions cost the NHS in the UK an estimated £300million every year. Please let your GP know if you've stopped taking any of your medications, check what medications you still have before ordering more, tick only the items you need and not all the boxes! Unused medicines cannot be recycled - please take any unused medicine to the pharmacy for safe disposal.
